After training as a neuroscientist at the University of Bristol, I became a secondary school teacher. In 2009, I was ordained by the Bishop of Oxford after part-time training on the Oxford Ministry Course at Ripon College Cuddesdon. In 2011, after 14 years at Radley College as Head of Biology, PSHE, and latterly Head of Science, I was appointed Chaplain of Downe House, where I also taught Biology, and became an Associate Curate in the Hermitage Team. I have been a governor of St Mark's Cold Ash Primary School since 2013. In 2015, I was appointed Dean of Chapel at Winchester College, but our family home remains in Cold Ash, so I am able to assist during the school holidays. My wife, Rachel, is a freelance editor and has sung professionally. Our hobbies are gardening, making and listening to music and walking our whippets.
