The word “unique” is over used in our modern society but this opportunity genuinely is! The tower bells at St Mary’s Church Hampstead Norreys are being removed so that they can be returned to a bell foundry for major repairs.
This is the first time in 400 years that all six bells have been lowered to the ground together. Before they are transported to the foundry we have obtained special permission for people to view them in the church.
Obviously there will be a strict protocol so that everybody is kept safe. You will need to book a slot by e-mail and when you receive your confirmation it will contain details of the procedures that will be in place on the day.
We ask everybody to please obey these simple rules and any additional instructions from the stewards on duty. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Saturday and Sunday 6th and 7th June 10am till noon and 2pm to 4 pm.
To book your slot please e-mail your name, number adults and children in your group (who must be from the same household), and preferred time slot to email@example.com
